Marilyn Bastien is a versatile artist who stands out both in front of the camera and behind it, as a producer. After studying at the Theatre School of Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe, she founded Théâtre du Lys Bleu (now Pourquoi scène) in 2012, where she produced and performed in several notable plays, including The Vagina Monologues, The Fairies Are Thirsty, and more recently Dehors novembre, which toured across Quebec. In 2018, she launched her own company, Pourquoi Productions Inc., dedicated to film and television. Under this banner, she produced director Jean-Sébastien Lozeau’s first feature film, Live Story, in which she also played the lead role alongside Sébastien Ricard. She went on to produce several other works, including the film Juste Xavier, where she portrayed the character Sophie, and the feature Paquet de troubles by Myriam Guimond. As an accomplished actress, Marilyn Bastien shines on stage with vibrant and moving characters and has made numerous appearances on television. Her roles include Andréa Racicot in District 31, Maude in Stat, and Josée Leblanc in À cœur battant. She has also worked as a host and columnist for VOX TVRM (MaTV). An entrepreneur and committed artist, Marilyn Bastien continues her mission: to create, produce, and perform powerful works that blend authenticity and emotion in stories that resonate deeply with audiences.
