After completing film studies at Concordia University, Martin Girard worked as a journalist for various media outlets (including Médiafilm, Voir, and the Journal de Montréal) before devoting himself exclusively to screenwriting for television (series such as Coroner and La courte échelle), and later for film with The secret of my mother, co-written with Ghyslaine Côté, which was nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Genie Awards. Since then, he has continued to take on projects in both television (Le Jeu, Dans la gueule du loup) and film (Nitro Rush, Saint-Narcisse, Crepuscule for a killer).
