Biography

Martin Gondre is a partner at Best Friend Forever, an international sales company based in Brussels, Belgium. He previously worked for six years at Indie Sales as Head of Marketing and Festivals, handling films such as The Insult by Ziad Doueiri and My Life as a Zucchini by Claude Barras, both nominated for an Academy Award. Founded in May 2019, Best Friend Forever’s recent line-up includes titles such as Banel & Adama by Ramata-Toulaye Sy, which competed at Cannes; A Useful Ghost by Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke, winner of the Critics’ Week Grand Prize at Cannes; Timestamp by Kateryna Gornostai, a documentary in competition at the Berlinale; and A Universal Language by Matthew Rankin, winner of the Directors’ Fortnight Audience Award at Cannes. The company also collaborates with established filmmakers such as Bertrand Bonello, Radu Jude, and Bruce LaBruce, as well as acclaimed animation directors like Yasuhiro Aoki, Jury Prize winner at Annecy for ChaO, and Ale Abreu for The Secret of the Perlims.
