Maxime Bernard first worked at the distribution center Les Films du 3 mars, and later served as documentary coordinator at Productions Érézi. Since 2012, he has been working as a producer on fiction films by independent filmmakers. In 2020, Maxime founded Secteur Films to develop and produce auteur films. The feature-length fiction film La Mécanique des frontières by Hubert Caron-Guay is the first film produced by the company.
