Mohamed Nadif is a Moroccan writer, director, actor, and producer. After training in acting at ISADAC in Rabat and earning a Master’s degree in Performing Arts from Paris X University, he first worked in theatre as both actor and stage director before moving into cinema, where he appeared in numerous films as an actor before turning to directing and producing. He made a strong directorial debut with a trilogy of short films — The Young Woman and the Elevator (2005), The Young Woman and the Teacher (2007), and The Young Woman and the School (2009) — all selected at several international festivals and broadcast on 2M and TV5MONDE. In 2011, he directed his first feature film, Andalusia, My Love!, a comedy about illegal migration that was acclaimed at the Marrakech Film Festival and received awards in Oran and Khouribga. His second feature, Women of Pavilion J (2019), a choral drama praised at the Cairo and Marrakech festivals, earned him the Best Feature Film Award at the Vues d’Afrique Festival in Montreal. In 2025, he returns with The Heir of Secrets, a Moroccan-Quebec co-production that confirms his bold exploration of social themes and cements his place in the renewal of Moroccan cinema.
