Biography

Niels Schneider has established himself over the past fifteen years as one of the most distinctive faces of Francophone cinema. Discovered by Xavier Dolan in I Killed My Mother and later Heartbeats, he confirmed his talent in Arthur Harari’s Diamant noir, a role that earned him the César Award for Most Promising Actor in 2017. A bold actor, he moves fluidly between auteur cinema and mainstream films, collaborating with filmmakers such as Catherine Corsini (An Impossible Love), Justine Triet (Sibyl), Emmanuel Mouret (Love Affair(s)), and Xavier Giannoli (D’argent et de sang). In France as well as internationally, he captivates audiences with his magnetic presence and a performance style that is both sensitive and enigmatic. In 2025, he stars in Guillaume de Fontenay’s Badh and Lucas Belvaux’s Les tourmentés, both presented at CINEMANIA this year.
