Raphaël Quenard began his career on stage and in short films before landing his first role in the series HP on OCS in 2018. He gained attention in cinema with Quentin Dupieux’s Mandibules, and soon reached a wider audience through the Netflix series Family Business. He went on to work with filmmakers such as Michel Hazanavicius, Cédric Jimenez, Quentin Dupieux, and Jeanne Herry in All your faces. His career took a new turn in 2023 with Junkyard dog (Chien de la casse), which earned him the César Award for Most Promising Actor, as well as Yannick, which brought him a nomination for Best Actor. In 2024, he appeared in six films, including Gilles Lellouche’s Beating hearts (L’amour ouf), and continued his collaboration with Quentin Dupieux in The second act (Le deuxième acte). In 2025, he co-directed I love Peru with Hugo David, presented at CANNES before its theatrical release. In 2026, he will star in Anthony Marciano’s The American dream (Le rêve américain), followed by Mystik, which he co-directs with Azedine Kasri. In 2027, he is set to portray Johnny Hallyday in Cédric Jimenez’s eponymous biopic.
