Biography

Silvia Sanchez, of Italian and Spanish origin, discovered dance as a student at the Conservatory of Geneva, Switzerland, where she initially trained in ballet. In 2015, she continued her journey by beginning her professional training at the Contemporary Dance School of Montreal. During these years, her encounters with various artists profoundly transformed her perception of dance. After graduating, Silvia worked as a freelancer with different choreographers such as Victor Quijada, Martin Messier, Andrea Peña, and Thierry Huard. She was also involved in projects with Pénélope Gromko, an emerging choreographer. More recently, Silvia has closely collaborated with choreographer Louise-Michelle Jackson, the Grand Poney company led by Jacques Poulin-Denis, and Skeels Danse under Andrew Skeels. She works as a performer, artistic advisor, and facilitator of cultural mediation workshops. Currently, Silvia is developing an interest in an acrobatic approach to dance, drawing inspiration from athletic and circus disciplines.
