Biography

Actor, screenwriter, comedian and director, Thomas Ngijol has established himself as one of the leading figures in French comedy and cinema. Revealed in 2006 at the Jamel Comedy Club directed by Kader Aoun, he quickly caught attention for his stage energy and distinctive sense of humor. After his early successes on stage with À block! (2008–2010), he continued in theater with 2 (2014–2016) and L’Œil du tigre (2021–2024), performed notably at the Théâtre Déjazet, the Olympia, and the Grand Rex. In cinema, he co-wrote and co-directed Case départ (2011) with Fabrice Eboué and Lionel Steketee, a popular hit that marked his directorial debut. This was followed by Fastlife (2014) and Black snake, the legend of black snake (2017), co-directed with Karole Rocher. In 2025, he presents Untamable, his new feature film selected for the Directors’ Fortnight at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. As an actor, Thomas Ngijol has appeared in numerous notable roles, including Second chance (2011), Le crocodile du Botswanga (2014), Les cobayes (2020), Serial driver (2022), Fratè (2022), Dao (2025) and the TV series Empathie by Florence Longpré (2025). He has also lent his voice to several animated films, including Beverly Hills chihuahua (2009), Zootopia (2016), Bullit & Ripper (2020) and Allah is not obliged by Zaven Najjar (2025). Between stage and screen, Thomas Ngijol has built a distinctive body of work at the crossroads of popular comedy, social satire and personal reflection, confirming his unique place in contemporary French culture.
