Tom Volf is an author, director, stage director, and producer. His career began in 2008 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, where he worked with internationally renowned artists such as David Cronenberg, Sting, and Plácido Domingo. In 2013, his discovery of Maria Callas led him to direct the film Maria by Callas, which became a worldwide success upon its theatrical release in over 45 countries between 2017 and 2019. He has also published three books about Callas, the latest of which was adapted for the stage, starring Monica Bellucci and directed by Tom Volf. The production premiered at Théâtre Marigny in 2019 and toured the world for three years. In 2023, he staged Bellini’s opera Norma at the Acropolis in Athens, performed to a sold-out audience of 9,000 people. That same year, he released his second feature film, Callas, Paris 1958, which screened in more than 25 countries. In 2025, he completes his new documentary Véronique, an intimate and cinematic portrait of Véronique Sanson, produced by INA in collaboration with France Télévisions.
