Biography

Zaven Najjar is a French film director and art director. He first gained recognition online in 2013 with his illustration series Rapposters, later developed into clothing collections with the brand Quatre Cent Quinze and distributed at Colette, Miami Art Basel, and Citadium stores. In the summer of 2015, he released his first animated short film, Un Obus Partout, which won several festival awards and was produced by Caïmans Productions with Arte. That same year, he launched another illustration series, Les Pharapops, in collaboration with Citadium. In 2016, he directed the animated opening credits for Hugo Gélin’s film Demain tout commence, starring Omar Sy and Clémence Poésy. Zaven Najjar studied animation at Les Arts Décoratifs in Paris and film at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After his studies, he built a career as a commercial director, graphic designer, and illustrator, working with institutions such as the Institut du Monde Arabe, the Grand Palais, and Cinéma Paradiso, as well as Arte, Canal+, and brands including IWC Schaffhausen, Baume & Mercier, and Roger Dubuis.
