As part of its France in the Spotlight program, CINEMANIA is pleased to invite you to the conference "From Ocean to Ocean: The Challenges of the French Language, Balancing Protection and Diversity.".
This event will explore the diversity of the French language, particularly in Quebec, and its various forms around the world, examining how the Francophonie can connect, enrich, and interlink. The discussion will also address the challenges of protecting and preserving this fundamentally organic language in the context of its constant evolution.
The conference will be moderated by Marie GRÉGOIRE, President and CEO of BAnQ (Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec), and will bring together Paul RONDIN, Director of the Cité Internationale de la Langue Française, along with two representatives of Quebec Francophonie: Michel ROBITAILLE, Chairman of the Board of the Centre de la Francophonie des Amériques, and Noémie DANSEREAU-LAVOIE, Commissioner for the French Language for the City of Montreal.
This conference will take place following the screening of Sarah Bernhardt, la Divine at 2:00 PM at the Cinémathèque québécoise.
