CINEMANIA celebrates its 30th anniversary by honoring France, the birthplace of cinema, where the first film, made by the Lumière brothers, was created in 1895. On the program: screenings of great classics like La Reine Margot by Patrice Chéreau, as well as more contemporary works, such as Jeanne du Barry by Maïwenn; and a journey through the new Corsican cinema, along with a spotlight on key filming locations such as the Grand-Est and Nouvelle-Aquitaine regions.
In addition, there will be conferences, evening events, and an urban exhibition, where photography and mapping will transform the Quartier des Spectacles into a movie set. A new feature this year: the CINEMANIA VR space, dedicated to exploring virtual reality, will push the boundaries of visual and sensory storytelling.
This celebration highlights the investment of the regions of France in promoting the 7th art worldwide and invites festivalgoers to discover a cultural industry in full evolution.
CINEMANIA's catalog can be found during the festival in various cultural and commercial venues throughout Montreal, as well as in our cinemas and partner venues: Cinéma Odéon Quartier Latin, Cinémathèque québécoise, Monument-National, Cinéma du Musée, Cinéma Moderne, Cinéma du Parc and Espace Saint-Denis among others.
