International Co-Production: Cinema of the North African and West Asian Diaspora, Between Countries of Origin and Host Countries – Challenges and Opportunities
This year, the NAWAL Association conferences focus on diaspora and multiple identities, themes central to the work of many filmmakers from North Africa and West Asia. These creators often explore themes deeply rooted in their diasporic experiences, leading them to develop film projects in their countries of origin.
This roundtable will examine the unique aspects and challenges of creating these films, as well as the dynamics of international co-production. Through insights from producers and filmmakers, we will discuss project challenges and strategies to overcome obstacles, including funding, production, and distribution.
This event is free and open to everyone with registration.
