Pauline (the amazing Emilie Dequenne), lives near Lille in a downtrodden town. She’s a remarkable person, a traveling nurse (and single mother) who’s devoted to her many patients, providing loving care to the elderly and immobile scattered throughout surrounding villages. Hoping to profit from Pauline’s immense popularity, an extreme right wing party tries to convince her to run as a candidate under their banner. They are smooth as silk, but can tailored suits hide their shadowy ways, camouflaging racism, violence, and poisonous populist politics verging on neo-Nazism? Stir a passionate love story into director Lucas Belvaux’s topical mix and you have a realistic, controversial and suspenseful thriller, not to be missed!
