Martin Clement (Finnegan Oldfield), was born “Marvin Bijou”. He’s been constantly running away...fleeing his family, his tyrannical father, his compliant mother, as well as his small town. He’s fleeing intolerance, rejection and harassment branding him as “different”. Against all odds, he’s found a mentor in Madeleine Clement (Isabelle Huppert), the principal of his high school who helps him discover theatre and whose surname he’s appropriated. And then there’s Abel Pinto, the epitome of kindness, encouraging Martin to unburden himself by recounting his life story on the stage. Marvin, who has morphed into Martin, risks everything in creating an intimate theatrical performance – will it be successful?
MARVIN is distinguished director Anne Fontaine’s latest feature.
