CINEMANIA’s
opinion
:
To
speak
of
semantic
dementia
with
neither
fatalism
nor
despondency
is
the
challenge
in
this
first
Belgium
feature
film,
presented
at
the
Namur
French
International
Film
Festival.
With
great
sensitivity,
the
filmmakers
Ann
Sirot
and
Raphael
Balboni
help
us
discover
extraordinary
actors,
notably
Jo
Deseure
in
the
role
of
the
mother
regressing
to
an
unmanageable
child.
Overwhelmed,
her
son
(the
outstanding
actor
Jean
Le
Peltier)
is
profoundly
affected
by
this
radical
transformation.
Nonetheless,
this
luminous
tale
snubs
its
nose
at
sickness
and
death.
The
film
combines
daring
visuals
with
a
tone
that
hovers
between
humour
and
poetry.
A
lovely
discovery.
