The struggle of Haby, a young woman of Malian descent, to counter the project of the newly elected mayor of Montivilliers, who aims to demolish the building where she grew up as part of his urban development plan. Ladj Ly continues the lineage established in Les Misérables with Kassovitz's La Haine, but this time uses the tool of fiction like never before to discuss the dangers of urban policies when they are not led by local figures. This is a new generational love letter to the suburbs, with a fresh immersive and – therefore – enlightening approach, supported by a large part of the filmmaker's crew, Kourtrajmé, and by Anta Diaw, who is breathtaking.
