Joseph, one of the last coastal shepherds in Corsica, sees his land coveted by the mob for a real estate project. He chooses not to back down. When he kills the man sent to intimidate him—the godfather's own son—he becomes the target of a relentless manhunt in the heart of summer. As days go by, the legend of Joseph—representing a resistance deemed impossible—grows. Director Frédéric Farrucci, known for La Nuit venue (2020), tells the story of a shepherd's fight against the mafia, using a political lens to powerfully address the societal rifts on the Isle of Beauty. Shot in cinemascope, a format associated with many westerns since the 1950s.
